Need to Appeal your new Sewer Rate?
Per Ordinance 828:
If a customer experienced a water leak during December 2025, January 2026, or February 2026 that resulted in unusually high water usage, they may be eligible to appeal their sewer rate. Appeals must be submitted within 60 days of the May billing and must include proof of repair.
The final deadline to submit an appeal is June 30, 2026.
The City Administrator, Utility Clerk, and an appointed Council member will meet with the customer to review the usage history. If approved, the adjusted sewer rate will be based on either the prior year’s rate or the average rate for a household of similar size—whichever is lower. The customer will be notified of the decision in writing, and any approved rate adjustment will take effect in the next billing cycle.
