The scheduled updates to the water plant are nearly complete, however the additional maintenance discovered during the project continues to be in process.
The next phase of the water system upgrade is maintenance of the water tower, which will take approximately six weeks to complete. The tower is required to be emptied and taken offline while the tower is cleaned, re-lined, inspected, and repainted. While the tower is offline, the water system will be run directly from the water plant using high service pumps to get pressure off the system. During this time, you may notice a change in water pressure, and you will see pressure relief valves attached to fire hydrants around town.
To ensure the water levels and pressure remain at an adequate level during the water tower maintenance, we ask residents to do the following:
- Adhere to the odd / even outdoor watering restrictions currently in place.
- Follow water conservation tips for other water usage.
- Adjust water usage times to spread throughout the day instead of between the hours of 5 AM to 10 AM.
We understand this will be a short inconvenience for residents and appreciate your help to ensure the maintenance causes minimal disruptions to the community.
