π Celebrating 146 Years of Community and Progress at Valley’s City Park! π³
Established in 1879, the City Park of Valley, Nebraska has long stood as a cherished gathering place for our community. Now, 146 years later, June 5th, 2025, we proudly celebrate a new chapter with the completion of Phase One of our park beautification projects!
This milestone is especially meaningful as it marks the culmination of efforts led by Mayor Grove and the past 16 years by our newly retired Public Works Superintendent, Doug Eggen. Doug’s dedication and vision have helped shape the park into the vibrant space we enjoy today.
At the heart of the park, since December 12, 1988, stands a proud symbol of American aviation history — a Republic F-84 Thunder Jet, on loan from the National Museum of the United States Air Force. It continues to inspire generations with its presence.
This transformation was made possible through a collaborative effort with our incredible partners:

Among the exciting new additions are a brand-new pickleball court, a basketball court, a new sand volleyball pit, and three new pavilions equipped with handicapped-accessible picnic tables, built by Meco-Henne, offering a fresh way for residents to stay active and connected.
This celebration is not just about a park — it’s about community, legacy, and the future. Thank you to everyone who played a role in making this vision a reality. Here’s too many more years of memories made in Valley’s City Park!
